Pink Flamingo Thrift Store

Went there today - love this store - it is my dream job.  Marcy, the owner is going to sell my furniture there for me!!!  And she's going to go with me to the Longest Yard Sale in August!!  Wahoo - can't wait!!  It was great to see you again Marcy - thanks for selling my furniture!!

Awesome day today!!!

I found another chair for $5 at one of my favorite thrift stores (it was tagged $15) - Our Lady of Hope Thrift Store South Daytona - they're having a 50% off sale all week!  Then I found a wig head so I can take pictures of my items to put on sale on Esty.com.  Found that at one of my other favorite thrift stores - Resources for Women - thanks Dot for getting out of the back room for me and for only $1!   Got some organizing things for my pantry and came home and emptied the entire thing and put what wasn't expired (lots of that!) back and it looks great!!!

This is my patio loveseat finished

I bought the wrought iron loveseat when it used to be black and I put it in my backyard by the orange tree - after a few years it looked like it was all rust but I sanded and sanded then painted it white and it looks so cute now - it matches my desk (the same exact leaf motif) that I  bought at a different time from a different place but in the same condition (rusty).  I'll show you that later.  The fabric came from IKEA - great place to buy fabric by the way and I bought two inch thick foam that would have cost more than $40 to buy at the store, at a yard sale for $1!  My little reading nook.  Do you like it?

Sewing my last patio cushion...

it appears my two assistants have decided it's break time!  Maybe I'm working them too hard...

Good thing Buster doesn't like to sew - with all that help I'd never get anything done!!!

My Craft Cabinet is full!

I love how much my new craft cabinet holds!!  It was so worth it!  See before and after!  I hung a bulletin board in the back and have my pictures and articles and sayings that inspire me and above that I hung a peg rack for scissors and hole punches, etc. - both purchased from garage sales for .75 and $1.  Every container in there I had - just reused and repurposed!  I'm so glad it rained today - I was able to get right to work (right after Buster and I took a trip to McD's for my weekend Mocha Frappe and cinnamon melts (thanks for introducing me to those Mom! lol)

Tomorrow

It's pouring down rain and supposed to tomorrow too - I wonder if I'll be able to make my morning rounds of garage sales.  If not I've got plenty of projects to work on at home.  What are you doing tomorrow?

my new craft cabinet

I've been looking at yard sales and thrifts stores for a long time but they all want too much money.  Found this one at Donna's Thrift in Holly Hill - she has two more left!  I'm painting mine either black or white - I haven't decided yet - or maybe both!!

Pretty in purple

This is my thrifting buddy - this dress cost her $1 and the shoes were hand-me-downs from a friend.  The pictures don't do the dress justice, it's purple with a diamond pattern across the top of the dress in the front.  Very detailed and it fits her perfectly!  $1!!!  We love thrifting.

Try something really different with doors...

Black doors!!  Got some questionable comments when I told people I was painting all the doors in my house black but if I do say so myself I think they came out great!  What do you think?

Curtain rods don't have to be boring...

In fact they don't have to be rods at all.  Or expensive.  I got three of these boards with glass doorknobs from the craft store and scored three curtain panels at a yard sale for $1 each.  I flipped them upside down and sewed big buttonholes into the hem to fit over the doorknobs and the rod pocket became the new hem.  I cut the third panel to make two short panels for the middle.  I love how soft they look.  Oh I also put some black ribbon on the two outside panels to give separation from wall to curtain.  Makes an ordinary picture window less ordinary.
