Deal of the Day!

Over the long weekend I went thrifting with mom - garage sales weren't very good because of the holiday. I scored this cabinet at one of my favorite thrift stores - Resources for Women - thanks Dot!!! for $2.00 - that's right $2.00!  Now I have to find a place for it !!

Black Friday

I avoided all the big stores except Lowe's today - I needed a new kitchen faucet.  Instead mom and I went thrifting and I got some great deals!  I'll post pics tomorrow.  I finished off a few projects tonight and now I'm heading to bed.  I also added to the wreath for my November give away.

Garage Sale Eve...

Big decision to make - 3 community garage sales (60, 50 & 30 houses) tomorrow - 2 neighborhoods are my favorites!  I'll be going by myself so I may just do both!!  Last year I got great things at both - can't wait to see what I find to fix up tomorrow!!  Grabbed a $2 chair today to paint.  Busy weekend coming up.  Have to post things for sale too and get the prize for the drawing finished this weekend to post!  Stay tuned...

thrifting today

Went to First Baptist Church Thrift store today - 75% off all clothing!!!  Got a pair of black pants, a tank top and a sweater for $2.75!!!  Tania really scored - a pair of jeans, a blouse and a navy velvet blazer and 2 sweaters for $6.25!!!  Pics to come...after all is washed and ready to wear.

Old made new...

Picked up the dressing table for $3 the stand holding the mirror was broken and the drawer was missing - removed the mirror and spray painted it glossy black and put the front against the wall.  Old made new.  The tray on the table matches the wall paint and table perfectly and I bought the tray (from Salvation Army) before I had the table.  The candle and the vase were yard sale finds also.  It just all came together!  Love making old new - have a small piece of furniture you want made new - or looking for something to fill a space - email me.

Next chair & footstool for sale

Started my next chair and finished a footstool.  Got a great deal on another chair while yard saling on Saturday.  Also worked on the November give away.  Pictures to come soon.  Here's the foot stool - anyone interested in it - it's for sale for $18 - email me before I post it on Craigslist or my Etsy Store.  The last item sold was gone within 24 hours so don't wait.

Day off tomorrow

Wahoo - can't wait.  Coincidently there just happen to be several garage sales - on a Thursday - must be just for me.  So I'll hit a few of those in the morning and then come home and clean the garage with Chris and then off to bible study at night.  Guess I'd better get to bed early tonight!!  Check out the cool chair I got today at lunchtime with my thrifting buddy Tania.  Can't wait to paint it! Not the best picture but it's really different and I can't wait to get started.

Will I learned today that you cannot spray glossy paint over satin paint - totally ruined the first coat on my chair I'm working on....looks like I've got a lot of sanding to do....
