Better Late Than Never

2014 was by far my most favorite Christmas tree in a long time.  The shape was perfect (thanks Chris) and the decorating style had a touch of my trip to Louisiana.  Next year my door and tree will be much earlier projects!

Boot Chains

Boot chains - any thoughts?  It was very hard to find any this year for a Christmas gift that were not over the top/gaudy.  So - I made my own.  Contact me for custom chains - $20 - 3 charms.

Seashell craft ideas.  Thrift store finds improved with seashells and sea glass.

 

Stripes in the bedroom

Finally got to do the stripes I've been wanting in my bedroom.  It was a slow process but so worth it.  The combination of gray and aqua look perfect together.  It's a good thing I love it because it's going to be there for a while!  Except for the main pieces of furniture everything is either hand made or a yard sale or thrift store find.  Here's the step by step.  

First I painted it all gray
 including the doors

Then I taped the stripes

and painted the stripes...

I just know I love how it looks.

This is quickly becoming my favorite wall in my home.

Candlestick Birdbath

Saw this in a magazine last week.  A candlestick and a pan (they used a pot lid with the handle removed) and purple spray paint (to match the lilac bush I recently planted) = one of a kind birdbath to match any garden you choose.

Thrifty shopping trip!

So, today I did some errands/shopping.  Went to the farmers market, Kohl's, McDonalds and Target.  Between coupons, gift cards, discount and sign up offers and sale prices I saved $72.58!!!!  All I spent was a total of $13.32!!!  $8.02 was at the farmer's market - sadly I had no coupons for them.  That's what I call thrifty shopping!!!  Time to go coupon hunting again - there's a few more things I need this weekend!!
