Curtain rods don't have to be boring...
In fact they don't have to be rods at all. Or expensive. I got three of these boards with glass doorknobs from the craft store and scored three curtain panels at a yard sale for $1 each. I flipped them upside down and sewed big buttonholes into the hem to fit over the doorknobs and the rod pocket became the new hem. I cut the third panel to make two short panels for the middle. I love how soft they look. Oh I also put some black ribbon on the two outside panels to give separation from wall to curtain. Makes an ordinary picture window less ordinary.
